One of the guys said they drove to Country early this morning, and it was junk everywhere. Pipe looked the best and was about 8 feet.

Unplanned Change
Hello? Excuse me, did you know the contest was CANCELLED? Always call the hotline before you leave for the event even though they say they will be running.
Surfed Makaha. It would've been fun had there been only about ten people instead of the forty that were there. Maili was small, although there was one guy out.
I got up at 6:00 a.m. on my day off to drive out there. One positive is that I have the rest of the day ahead of me. How fortunate.

Not So Sore
Up early this morn. Contest at Maili. Heard it was real good a few days ago, but by now it's probably small. Seems like excellent conditions, though, here in town.
My leg has been bothering me, but it hasn't been too bad the previous few days. Right now there's slight discomfort. It shouldn't be a problem.
I just hope there are waves. Please, at least chest-high and semi-consistent.

Cancelled
Today's event at Maili was postponed until next week. I'm glad.
First, I was concerned that surfing lefts would aggravate my already-sore leg. But after yesterday's fun session at one of my favorite left-handers there were no ill effects, and, therefore, it would seem my fretting was misplaced (also, then, I'm not in a sense simply putting off the inevitable).
In addition, it was so, so nice to be able to sleep in. I did wake up at about 6:00 this morning to call the hotline, and after I found out the contest was nada, I went back to bed and got some much-needed rest. I've been getting up "early" every day this week for some other appointment or activity. Thing is, somewhere I need to fit in a surf session; hence, the requirement to schedule appointments or surfing early in the morning. The point is that if I'm going to do it all, then I have to start my day early; otherwise, there are too many tasks and not enough time.
