Perhaps

It definitely perked up a bit from yesterday. Would have to say it was showing signs, but by the time I left it was really junk due to the high tide and wind (that was brought on by the rain).

Begin (The Beguine)

On my way . . .

(Oh, and that link in the title is a Cole Porter song made famous by Artie Shaw.)

Carpe Diem?

Kinda overslept today. I hate it when that happens. Feels like I wasted one or two hours. Guess I needed the rest, though.

I'm not optimistic about a new swell, and the usual surf report sites are saying there are no indications yet. It's not that I think there won’t be a swell; it's just that the pattern this season has been things don’t play out as predicted, meaning, it's either not as strong or it's tardy or it doesn't materialize at all.

Zip, Zilch

Cleaner than yesterday but smaller. Tiny. No forerunners.

Swell?

Gonna be heading out soon. Not expecting anything but smallness.

Education Is A Good Thing

Yippee, it's that time when many kids return full time to where they belong: an authoritarian, coercive, and highly-structured institutional setting. Alas, we can't really rejoice until Aug. 23 when for sure all the little devils still running free will be incarcerated; and we have to wait for Aug. 28 before those especially troublesome adult demons in the UH system are locked up. Oh well, those dates are not far off. The college students have the greatest impact on crowd, I think.

After

Frustrating. So much potential, so much disappointment. Small and sloppy. No sign yet of new swell.

Before

Out the door . . . back in a few hours.

Good Morning

As I sit here in front of the ol' computer and browse the Web, peer out the window, and read the forecasts, I'm thinking today is gonna be just like yesterday (i.e., windy, sloppy, and small). You-know-who and surf-news.com keep exhorting us to get ready for this weekend's south swell. Do I even have to comment on the foolishness of that?

Report

At first, windy, messy, and small (about knee- to waist-high). Then wind backed off considerably and it cleaned up. I had some fun ones. Overall, though, it was junk.

See You Later

Heading to the beach now . . .

Today

Certain Web sites reporting small surf this morning and hyping a forecasted south swell for this weekend.

More Template Fun

Hacking the underlying code is fun.

Someone Had Fun

Seems Bagus had a good time today. I'm glad someone did.

Patched

Fixed it for now. Can't use relative URLs--must be absolute.

Navigation Troubles

There are bugs in the sidebar navigation links because i don't know yet how to get them to automatically change according to the level.

Return Of The Previous

Back to the other template.

Yuck

I can't find the right template. I don't like this one, either.

Tweaking

Been fiddling with the template and made some subtle changes. It's looking better. Haven't decided yet on the colors, the palette. Should it be the same awful scheme as the rest of the site? Right now, i think not.

Nada

Just got back. No sign of a new swell. Small, inconsistent, weak, mushy.  Worse than yesterday.

Posted at 2:57 PM

Where Is It?

No sign yesterday of the new south swell that was forecasted. It was dismal.

Better Look

Oh yeah, this template is much nicer.

Long Waits

Just got back from my usual spot. It was a bit crowded. The sets took so-o long; I mean an excruciatingly-long time. The water was nice because it's hotter than all heck outside.

I kinda like this blogging thing because I can post whenever I want, and everything is done for me, and all I gotta do is type. The text is formatted and it's assigned a time/date stamp, etc. We'll see how long this (i.e., my interest) lasts.

Hey, anybody seen the spell-check button? Where is that sucker? Oh, there it is.

Ugly

But this template has got to go. Uhhguhleeee.

Not Bad

This is a test. 1, 2, 3. Testing. Is this thing on?

Here We Go

How does this stuff work? This is my first post to try out Blogger. I've got my own site elsewhere (www.parapraxis.com), which is not a true blog, and wanted to get an idea of what it's like to use blogging software.
