Fair?
Got cited yesterday right in front of where I live for having illegal window tint on my car. See if you can guess the fine . . . give up? It's $287 per violation. I had four tickets. Does anyone see something wrong with that? Would it be called disproportionality (i.e., the penalty is far greater than the transgression)?
The tint was already on the car when I bought it about two years ago. I paid $650--it's a beater. Now I have to pay about $1,150 in fines.
