Bad And Good
Open: first round, last, 7th (yikes!), eliminated. Senior: first round, 1st, advance; finals, 2nd.
For the Open, I was so bummed and embarrassed that I not only came in last but that it was in a seven-man heat. Wow, talk about going down hard. I did much, much better in the Senior. I was getting good waves and surfing pretty well. The scores were close, too, between the guy who won and me.

Might Be A Good One
The next event scheduled for today at Kewalo's is on. I think the waves should be nice.
Surfed my old left-hander yesterday to practice, and it was kinda going off. Consistent over-head sets with push that were lining up all the way to the inside. Some of the best stuff I've had in a while (and that's including the two recent south swells).
There was only a handful of us. One of the regulars from my usual spot was out, and he and I were catching all the best stuff. It was really fun. I was doing pretty well, but my backhand is still very clumsy and tentative. Could be worse, though, I guess. But I definitely don’t feel confident going left. Hopefully, there'll be some rights too.
